Gabriel Vergara Ezcurdia Lead Security Architect | Cyber Security, Identity & Secure Digital Transformation

I was born in Mexico City in 1972 and moved to Finland in 1997, where I have built a long and rewarding career spanning software engineering, solution architecture, and cyber security leadership.

I began my journey as a Solution Design Architect at ICL, working within the Weer@ unit. This team later co-founded Nice Business Solutions Oy, a joint venture between Nokia and Fujitsu Services Finland (formerly ICL Scandinavia / ICL Invia / Fujitsu Invia).

In 2012, Nice became fully part of Fujitsu, and in 2013 I transitioned back to Fujitsu Services Finland.

Over the years, I have evolved into a Lead Cyber Security Architect, specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and authentication solutions. I design and implement secure architectures that protect identities, applications, and critical enterprise data across complex digital ecosystems.

I actively apply OWASP best practices to ensure secure development and resilient architectures. Recently, I have embraced AI-assisted software development and started working with quantum-safe (post-quantum) security approaches to prepare for future cryptographic challenges.

I have worked on a wide range of impactful projects including web, mobile, and enterprise solutions, supporting customers like Nokia, NSN, Itella, and other organizations across Finland and Europe.

I also have experience with SQL Server, Oracle databases, Autonomy IDOL, and SharePoint environments.

And no… I’m not only a geek :)

I have studied theatre and the arts, worked in Spanish dubbing for Audiomaster 3000, and appeared in television productions in Mexico for Televisa and Imevisión (now TV Azteca).

I’m also active in local politics and community initiatives, contributing to making our society stronger and better.
